Although the Haiti earthquake is a few years behind us, rebuilding efforts in one of the poorest countries in the world continue to be ongoing, and stories continue to surface of those who died while serving the poorest of the poor in the midst of a natural disaster.
One such missionary was 19 year old Britney Gengel, who arrived in Haiti to work with orphans the day before the earthquake struck. Like many victims, it took over a month to confirm that she had indeed been killed. However, her witness has inspired a group of high school missionaries- or, as they like to call themselves, “Britsionaries,” to continue the work that she was headed to Haiti to do.
A group of ten students from Holy Name Central Catholic in Worcester, MA is headed to Haiti this Spring to Britney’s orphanage, and they need your help. A gift of $5, $10, or whatever you can give would be a huge help to these students as they give of their gifts in service to the Lord and the poor he has called us all to love.
Give, pray, share, repeat- it’s #FundingFriday!
